Megan Koch is an emerging artist praised by Theater Jones for her versatility and flexible technique.

Returning to Fort Worth Opera as a Lesley Resident Artist in the 2021-2022 season, Megan  will be making her mainstage debut as Annina in La Traviata. In the most recent season, she performed a mobile outdoor opera entitled "Manon on the Move" which included excerpts from Massenet's Manon. She was also a featured soloist with Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in "America Strong", which was broadcasted on ABC on July 4, 2020.

Megan became a FWO Resident Artist in the 20/21 season. Despite the dangers of COVID-19, she performed and presented safely in the community through outdoor pop-up concerts for the community as well as a recital entitled PURSUE at The Post. The season included her title-role debuts in Lucia di Lammermoor and Manon. The final production of the Massenet was "On the Move" through Downtown Fort Worth. The imaginative rendition literally brought the audience along on Manon's journey, complete with original narration to fill in the gaps between her major scenes.

Megan was part of the FWO Studio Artist program for the 19/20 season and premiered the role of Mariana and Grandmother in a family opera, Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World by Illick and Campbell. With UNT Opera, she recently debuted the roles of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and Zan in Regina. In 2019, she was invited to the Czech Republic to sing in the modern premiere of two lost operas by Johann Heinrich Schmelzer in the Olomouc Baroque Festival. She was a Division Winner in the UNT Concerto Competition, a finalist in the Classical Singer Competition and Lewisville Lake Symphony International Voice Competition.

In the 18/19 season, Megan studied at the Janaček Academy in Brno, Czechia for her debut in the title role of The Cunning Little Vixen which she toured through Czech communities in Texas after the full production at the UNT Czech Festival in December. While in Czechia, she performed as a soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in the Hussite Church in Olomouc. She also sang in a brand new, dramatic Rogers and Hammerstein Revue (If I Loved You . . .) at UNT. Megan performed the role of Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at the Varna International Opera Academy in Bulgaria.

In the 17/18 season, Megan “shimmered with nuance” (The Column Online) as Mabel (Mabel’s Call) in the 2018 Frontiers Showcase with Fort Worth Opera. She made her UNT debut as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), and she debuted Rose (Street Scene) and La princesse (L’enfant et les sortilèges
) at the Varna International Opera Academy.

Megan earned her Master of Music in vocal performance and her Graduate Artist Certificate in Opera at the University of North Texas (UNT). She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University.
